Honor Bands

2022 WCPSS All-County Band

Auditions: October 18, 2022 at Carnage Middle School
Clinic and Concert: November 17-18, 2022
Audition requirements:
          1. Scales (For the audition, you will play scales from either the A or B list HERE. You will not know which list until the audition date; thus, you need to practice all of the scales included on the A and B list.)
          2. Solo 
                 a. Woodwinds/Brass (use the "B" ending if there are multiples)
                 b. Percussion (use the "B" ending if there are multiples)
                       - snare solo
                       - timpani solo
                       - mallets solo
 
          3. Sightreading excerpt (music will be chosen at the audition; use 1) www.sightreadingfactory.com and 2) SmartMusic (choose the "sight reading exercises" that are available with a free subscription)

2023 NC East Central District All-District Band

Auditions in Jan. 7, 2023 at Willow Spring HS
Clinic and Concert Jan. 27-28, 2023 at Millbrook HS
Audition requirements:
          1. Scales
          2. Solo 
                 a. Woodwinds/Brass (if there are multiple endings, use the "B" ending only)
                 b. Percussion solo will be included here once updated to the 2022-23 solo (if there are multiple endings, use the "B" ending only)
          3. Sightreading excerpt (music will be chosen at the audition; use 1) www.sightreadingfactory.com and 2) SmartMusic (choose the "sight reading exercises" that are available with a free subscription)

NC Middle School Honors Band

 Auditions March 4, 2023 (Atkins High School, Winston-Salem, NC)
​*Please note: only students who earn highest scores at All-District Band auditions are eligible to audition for Honors Band
